The gas filter 203 ABEK1 is designed for use in areas contaminated by solvent vapours and acids (boiling point 65°C), toxic gases and ammonia. You can find all locations in the main applications.

In conjunction with a face piece - half mask DUETTA (DIN EN 140) with a bayonet connection -
for protection against organic gases and vapours with a boiling point above 65°C and from
inorganic gases and vapours, for example chlorine, hydrogen sulphide, (sulphurated hydrogen), hydrogen cyanide ( hydrocyanic acid, hydrogen acid) - not against carbon monoxide -
against sulphur dioxide, hydrogen chloride ( hydrochloric acid) and against ammonia
The durability of gas filters depends on several factors such as
concentration of the harmful gases, ambient temperature, humidity, work intensity, posture, etc. Therefore, it cannot be predicted.
Filters that have been opened must be replaced after 6 months at the latest.
The use of respiratory protection filters requires basic knowledge of the function and handling of respirators. Information on this can be found in the trade association regulations and rules, in particular in BGR 190.
Damaged filters must not be used.
Gas filter according to DIN EN 14387:2008 – filter type ABEK – filter class 1 -
as part of a respirator according to DIN EN 133 - filter device with a bayonet connection suitable for the half mask DUETTA.

For filtering devices, the protection objective of supplying the wearer of a respirator with pure breathing air is achieved by filtering the harmful substances by means of a gas, particle or combined filter. Depending on the type of filter, filter devices can remove and store certain pollutants from the ambient atmosphere within the limits of their separative or absorption capacity.

Filter devices do not provide protection in cases of oxygen deficiency. The prerequisite for their use is at least 17% oxygen by volume in the ambient atmosphere.

Particle filters are divided into the following particle filter classes according to their separative capacity for particles:
• P1 (lower separative capacity)
• P2 (medium separative capacity)
• P3 (very high separative capacity)
Gas filters are subdivided into gas filter types according to their main application area (for example, against organic or inorganic gases and vapours) and in three gas filter classes which are classified according to a maximum permissible pollutant concentration in the ambient atmosphere.

Combined filters are filters for protection against gases, vapours and particles. They consist of a gas filter part and an upstream particle filter part.
